Traditional automotive design can be a closed loop, with manufacturers looking to one another for inspiration and validation. In designing the ZDX, we sought inspiration in the fluid roofline of a Japanese sports arena; in the contrasting materials and technologies of one of San Francisco’s most luxurious hotels; even in the rich hues inside aged Napa Valley oak wine barrels. The ZDX doesn’t look like other vehicles because it’s inspired by a world beyond other vehicles.
